letting out in the livingroom

Hi all,
I have been bonding with my gliders by taking them into the hall (small enclosed area) in the evening for half an hour, picking them up, talking to them and feeding them a couple of waxworms, i have had them for two weeks now.
the little male is quite friendly, makes "happy" noises and will walk over me and let me handle him. the female is coming around to me now, and will let me pick her up, where before she gave a gentle nip and a grumpy noise.
I have had the little man out in the livingroom, but he happily wandered off from me to play, so i guess he can not have a bond yet.
when can i just open their house up and let them play?
Also the female seems to have a joey in her pouch, will she be OK to be out and about in a new place?

they will be fine! lol most of the time, gliders dont want to just sit on you and get cuddled like a cat when theres a whole room to explore! lol
make sure you have gliderproofed your living room (close all doors and windows, maybe even put a towel under the door if you have a bit of a gap, cover all sockets etc etc etc) and just let them fly! lol
the females houdl be fine. just keep an eye on her incase she goes somewhere new and high and falls.

As Rhi said, why stay on their human when they have a whole new room to explore? Is the cage is in the front room? If so just leave the door open for them so they can go back in when they've had enough. Have fun

Hi All,
Opened up their house last night. little man was first up had fun running from corner to corner and up the curtains. his lady friend just popped her head out the door but stayed in. little man took hisself back to bed after half an hour. it was late so i left it at that for the first night, but they will be allowed out again tonight.
They are so funny when they put thier tails up and scuttle across the room!

Jees Rhi!! Don't insult Suggies!!! Meerkats are disgusting, smelly animals! Wiping their ass on everything, it's really unpleasant!
Glad your little man enjoyed himself, his young lady will come out when she's ready
