Tonight I have suffered my first ever glider loss.

Earlier when I checked on my little suggies I found my little poppy dead in her pouch. A healthy little girl who was one of my first joeys. The feeling of grief is overwhelming and as I write this I am in floods of tears.

She had gotten stuck in stitching and had obviously struggled to free herself because of this I totally hold myself responsible for the loss of this precious little life. She can never be replaced and I will miss her terribly.

R.I.P my baby girl we will all miss you

I'm so sorry, it is devastating when something like this happens.  But you mustn't beat yourself up over it, it's not your fault.

I am so sorry, but, unfortunately, these things can happen...  Even with all our protectiveness...  We can't protect them from everything.  So please don't blame yourself {{{hugs}}}

Thank you all for your kind words!!!

Everybody is saying the same and my hubby is being so supportive but everytime I go in the glider room my heart sinks.

She was my first baby girl that I bred and I would spend many nights with her cuddled up sleeping on my chest in the palm of my hand.

I'm also worried that my other suggies Honey (mom), Bilbo (dad), Lily (sister) and Tate (twin brother) will grieve in much the same way as me. Sad

Thats so sad Sad. This happened to my first glider too, I was absolutly devastated. I use no-sew pouches now for my pair of gliders that I make myself because I dont trust any pouches bought from shops now! I hope you dont beat yourself up about it, unfortunatly terrible accidents like this happen far too often Sad

Sorry to hear of your loss but as everyone else has said, don't blame yourself too much. No matter how vigilant we can be, accidents still occur.
