If like us you have time where your glider can join you in the front room (or whatever room you have play time in) and you do not use a tent, remember there are hazzards everywhere that you need to think about.

Other Animals

Not even the tamest dog may be happy having a little glider jumping on his or her back while its gliding around your room, one day it just might snap back. For such a small animal it could be fatal so always keep your eye on your gliders and never leave them unsupervised in a room with other animals or better yet keep all other animals out of the room while you are playing with your glider. Same for cats. If you have small birds such as finches, make sure that your gliders cannot get into their cage or reach them through the cage bars. Gliders will catch and eat small birds.

Electrical Equipment

I sound like a broken record..............All potentially dangerous electrical equipment must be switched off, moved or at least covered its better than ending up with a vet trip or worse death. If you are in your computer room please please watch the gaps in your tower, its dark its warm its perfect to hide or sleep in and its, theres also other hazzards in your office or computer room such as a photocopier they are full of little vents and holes, or your shredder i do not think I need to explain what could happen there.

Kitchen/ Laundry Room

Ever heard of the cat that snuck inside the washing machine for a kip on some nice warm clothes and was later found by its owner with lungs full of water? now think of a very small mammal tha loves dark warm areas to sleep or hide! Bingo..... Keep all washer, tumble dryer, fridge, freezer, microwave and cooker doors closed, but to be honest the kitchen is a minefield if you can your better off shutting the door and making it "out of bounds"

Bathroom

Alot of people find this room great for the bonding process, personally I prefer a room they can have more grip on with more ledges for gliding but the bathroom works for alot of people.Do not forget to keep the toilet seat DOWN gliders cannot grip on your standard seat and will end up in the toilet, its full of germs possible bleach or another cleaner and gliders do badly in water.

Rodent traps

From time to time a mouse may appear in your glider room and you'll want to get rid of it, please think carefully before you set traps or lay poison.  Suggies will catch and devour a mouse, so if the mouse is poisoned then you will poison your suggie.  If you lay the little snapper type of traps (spring loaded to close on and kill the mouse), if your suggie escapes from his or her cage then s/he could suffer the same fate!  And then there's the very cruel glue traps, suggies will get stuck on these too - I have seen countless posts from people screaming for help - what should we do?  How do we get the glue out of their coat? Simple answer is - don't use them!!! If you have a rodent problem, make sure any food that could be drawing them is put away in a glass or plastic container. Plug all holes that rodents can enter - steel wool works well. Wash the area where they run. Rodents use urine and feces to mark the path for themselves and others. Peppermint oil will deter rodents. Put some peppermint oil on many pieces of cotton and put these in their path.

Can I also add a few thoughts?

-no open water sources...includes your dog's water bowl
-bind up loose cords on curtains or window blinds
-cover or keep turned off incandescent light bulbs (get hot quickly)
-no candles or oil type air fresheners
-no "moving" furniture like rockers or recliners (or at least don't use them while gliders are out
