I think i'll have to consider the safety door.
At the moment things are still fairly new to them, so they're a little nervous when i enter the room. The cage is still their safety net, at least for now and plus they can smell the dog outside of the room.
Thanks for all your advise.

Update on my Glider room.
I had Kayleighs boyfriend rip a wild apple tree apart today, which would probably upset some people but when i need it for my Gliders then it has to be!
I sprayed it with cagesafe then poured boiling water over it, let it dry out and carted it up the stairs to the Glider room.
My little friends were going mad in the cage watching me and could probably smell "tree?"
After a long struggle (it's a big branch with lots of branches off it) i put it in place, with some toys hanging from it and a straw ball which i used to put a fleece inside for a bed if they wish to use it?
They are really happy with it and the little Joey has nested in the ball, so i'll have to go and check he's ok?
Don't want him to be on his own!
Now it's time i may have to think about a safety door, as their all over the room when i open the door!
Thanks Mark. x

Actually reading back on that last message, ripping the tre apart sounds terrible! We were as kind as we could be, we didn't actually rip it apart  Grin, we were as kind to to the tree as we could be.
Little joey was safe too, he was back in the usual pouch with Mum and Dad, when i checked on him.

Anyone out there got any ideas how to protect our white walls. We found a building supplies that does perspex glass but they want £35 quid for a 6ft piece. Some one said Wicks do a transparent dust cover but not sure if this would be too thin? Any ideas?

Hi all

I'm new to the forum and just researching getting a sugar glider so sorry in advance if my questions seem a little stupid!

It seems from this thread that mostly you have a dedicated room for your suggies... Is this the case? Before I found this forum, most of the websites I had read only said a cage (albeit a very tall one!) was needed and I'm now a bit concerned about not having enough space for them!

Any advice would be really appreciated.

Thanks in advance :-)

My cage is 3x4x6 feet. I also have a little hallway I use on a night to let them play in. A pop up tent is good for bonding though Smiley

It's not a full room just for them, It's just a room that is safe for them to play in. I had mine in the living room and let then 'run wild' in there. Make sure there are no cracks or holes in the wall/floor they can get into. No sharp objects, try and keep it as clutter proof as poss as they are good at hiding and can give you a scare from time to time when they go missing for an hour lol. I just had a sofa and tv basically in my living room. Nothing they could hurt themselves on x

Thanks for the replies!! That's put my mind at ease a bit!

And Amalthea, don't worry, I'm looking for two! I was actually wondering if it is better to get two boys or two girls or a mixed sex if they're neutered? I don't have the experience to breed but wondered if there is a better combination to have or if it doesn't make much difference?

My girls are in my living room as it loads of things to climb up and glide from.... often from the cutains to me, to their cage... running back to the curtains.... to me.... to the cage and so on lol

Apparently 2 neutered males make the best pair x
