Welcome to suggie lumps Alex.  Has your partner kept suggies before then?

Yeah she had 2 females as soon as they were away from their parents and kept them until they died but that was about 3 years ago and she says (as she's sat here with me) that she's lost her knowledge and confidence and was looking to regain it.

At what age did they die?  I'm presuming it was quite young as your partner has lost her confidence?  Tell her to get her butt on here!  We're a friendly bunch (for the most part) and we'll help all we can.

Welcome, Alex. If you are new to sugs, you will see that keeping these animals isn't as straight forward as keeping cats, dogs, or even other pets that tend to spend most of their time in their cages. There is quite an effort being made to keep gliders healthy and avoid the terrible problem of overbreeding that has resulted in a huge number of gliders in rescue or worse in the US.

She had them with her last partner, they died at around 12 apparently but she hasn't had them for quite a while and isn't sure she'd be confident in keeping them just yet.

12 is an old age for a suggie. 15 is closer to the documented record  - something we aim for but often don't attain.
