I have her in the pouch; gave her some of that innocent smoothie bananas & strawberries; she took a meal worm but it took her about 3 minutes to chew through the thing; Just trying to concentrate on keeping her warm; she's definitely progressed since this morning; she was completely limp and about 80 percent unresponsive

One of my boys escaped last week, i couldnt find him anywhere and when i did he was freezing and basically the only movement he could make was to grip to me very very tightly, his nose was blue, and i was absolutely terrified. I gave him gatorade and honey, but what really seemed to do the job was sticking him in my bra ! it was a horrible experience, i was so convinved he was poisoned or dying but he came round and he is his usual bouncy self again. xx

The cold is unbelivable isn't it? I've never felt anything colder, it really drains your heat from you! Warming a suggie both on the top and underneath is very important. Gatorade will have rehydrated him as it's an isotonic drink isn't it? It's not something I would make a habit of giving him but if you need to get electrolytes in to them an isotonic drink is fine. Did you find he was absolutely ravenous when he warmed up?
Glad you found him by the way, do you know how he got out?

yes, little mr scary wolfed down a heap of fruit once he came round, because i was at my boyfriends, i didnt have access to my usual supply of glider first aid, but i read somewhere that gatorade was ok for a sickly glider. it took him ages to acccept the gatorade and honey i literally had to force it down him but i think the warmth was what got him better. I heard childrens dioralyte is also good xx

Unfortunately on Saturday morning, my little boy Goose died. I found him hanging from his pouch by a claw and he was outstretched, rigid. I have absolutely no idea how this happened as when I went to bed on Friday night they both seemed fine and perky.
My other little one, Maverick, was curled up in his pouch, cold and lifeless with his eyes closed. I cut the pouch away from him and was stroking him, again with no response. I wrapped him up in a t-shirt and heated the t-shirt up with a hairdryer for about 10 mins but he still didn't seem to move. He was only barely breathing. I then held him in my hands for a couple of hours, above a radiator and very slowly he started to come round. His eyes opened and he started to slowly crawl out of my hands...very unstable and looked completely out of it! I fed him a small teaspoon of cranberry sauce and within about 30 mins he was jumping between me and my girlfriend again. I kept the heating on all day, fed him up with fresh fruit and veg and kept a close eye on him for the rest of the weekend and now he seems to be back to his usual self - nipping at my toes!
I still can't understand how this has happened as we've not even had that cold a winter yet. Last winter was colder and there was no problems then. As for Goose passing away, I have no idea what the cause was - it seems such a strange position hanging from his pouch by a claw - almost as if it may have been a heart attack or something along those lines. This is my first little guy to pass away and I'm deeply gutted. I've had them for about 18 months now and they've been fine. The people I got them off fed them on bearded dragon pellets alone. I got them back on to daily fruit and veg mixture that I freeze in portions and give them cat biscuits to keep their teeth healthy. They both bonded with me really well and I'm just so upset for Goose's departure and for Mav's loss. He's going to be lonely now but I'm in the process of finding him one or two more friends. Any advice on breeders and has anyone got any for sale? I live in the Manchester area but am willing to travel.
Lee.

Amalthea, I've just a reply back from the seller. Unfortunately they've gone. That sounded ideal too! Any more contacts or do you know of any more breeders in the north-west area? Like i said, i am prepared to travel but obviously if there's any closer to home then that's better. :hope:

Maybe ask Mark... He's in Cheshire and he may have some babies available. I know he's away at the minute, but it'd be worth PMing him You would know his babies are well bred and cared for.

It sounds like Goose could have got his claw stuck, a struggle and the cold could cause such an unfortunate conclusion, especially if he hadn't had anything to eat . For them both to have gone down like that then maybe the room dropped too cold?. I always increase their food in the winter, I personally don't think that a little extra weight in winter is a bad thing. What time do you feed them? I'm really sorry for your loss!

7ish is fine, I was shocked to find some people feed during the daytime and just wanted to check that wasn't the case.
I also add oatmeal to my mixture now, a bit more bulk for them.
