Hiya adelg88,  this is a UK site so may not be able to help on where you can get your gliders. You say what should I do to keep 1 or 2 gliders happy?  Well gliders are not solitary animals so if you got 1 it would not be happy, you should always get a pair/trio etc from a good breeder/rescue.  A pair of neutered males or 2 females or a neutered male with a female are all good as I wouldnt recommend breeding until after you have had some experience of gliders for sometime. A decent sized cage is very important, height is more important than width with the height being no less than 4ft and make sure the bar spacing isnt too wide for them to escape.  They will need to be on a good diet with a  ratio of 2:1 so have a good read through the diet link and other links on this site. Mine get tap water (as do both my husband and I and all the other critters)...

Deffinately don't get a single glider.  They don't do well at all.  Marie has a girl (Dinx) who was handreared and lived alone for the first part of her life, and even though she was with Marie more often than not, she still started to over groom... And if any glider is going to be alright on her own, it would be a hand reared one who sees herself as more of a little human.

Have a good read in the diet sections and ask any questions you might have. Smiley

To be honest, bottled water in the UK is no better than tap water according to a number of sources (type in tap water or bottled water in yahoo and click UK search) and a few different news articles will pop up.  We filter all our water anyway, so ours get filtered tap water.

Welcome to the site! You're in the right place! Smiley

My cage is 5ft x 2ft x 2ft - possibly a little bit bigger than that - Marie will know as she sells them!

just so you know, they are illegal in pa, so if you live there, you cant really get one.
I mean you can, but you are putting it in danger, to get taken away, or even euthinized.
so If you live in pa, I def. would look for another pet.

I think the law in PA states that they are illegal to breed and/or sell, so you have to buy them out of state and it has to be either a same sex pair or a neutered pair.

here is what I found to show you

Current States and Areas Known to be illegal:

Alaska
California
Georgia
Hawaii
Massachusetts
Pennsylvania (PA is not issuing or renewing required permits to own sugar gliders. PA law REQUIRES permits to own a sugar glider legally. Without a permit you may NOT own a sugar glider in the state, therefore ALL sugar gliders are illegal inside the state.)

which is stating that if you dont already have a permit, that isnt like expired, you may NOT own one. Even if you do have a permit now, it will run out and they arent renewing them. So therefore, they are illegal in PA
