Hi all,
Ive had sugar gliders for about two years now and before I had them I done as much research as I possibly could concerning their diets. Before I knew it I was overwhelmed and confused as to what was the best diet for my suggies.
At the time I decided to use the Leadbeaters diet but after a number of weeks I noticed my gliders were putting on weight, they were less active and their lovely fur coats were looking brown and dull.
I then came into contact with Marie from Shropshire Exoctics who advised against Leatbeaters diet.
She gave me great advice on a great diet for my suggies and the difference is brilliant, my gliders are very, very active. They come out of their box earlier in the evening and their coats are a perfect swade-grey colour.
Any way heres my diet:
Iams Chicken 1year+ cat biscuits
Onken Biopot Summer Fruits Youghurt
Chicken meat (don't use chicken meat of the legs as its fatty)
FRESH fruit and veggies
Sometimes but not to often cheese (once a week and only a little cube each about the size of your little finger nail)
Theyv'e not had mealworms or any other live insects for about a year now and Iv'e noticed that they don't 'smell' as much as they used to...?
There diet is also supplimented with Glider Cal and Glider Booster.
I was very worried when I first got my suggies but two years down the road I can sleep at night knowing that my gliders are Happy, Curious, Freindly and most of all HEALTHY :-)
P.S.. My wife brought a feather duster to clean the the house, and the Gliders love it to bits... ;-)

It's just great when they feel good, have lovely coats, and don't smell!
Marie's diet has been keeping gliders healthy for quite a few years. Glad you found it!
