Hi Everyone, I have recently felt my female sugar gliders pouch and i can fell 2 little hard bumps either side and she is looking larger too. I dont want to get excited because ive read so many stories of gliders rejectng babies. Im really nervous and want to do my best to ensure shes getting the best i can give her and do for her. Could you give me any good tips for this time? Thanks in advance, Kay

Hi Kay, just stick to the same routine, don't change anything. You don't need to take the wheel out or any pouches/nestboxes, and you don't need to check on them every 5 minutes! I know why you're nervous as I know the history before you had them but what will be will be. They're on a better diet now and they've settled in well so you've done as much as you can to help them. But don't forget you know where we are if there are any problems

Thanks Marie, so far so good, bumps havent disappeared and Mogwhy seems just fine not stressed in the slightest and has let me have a feel while munching on abit of almond lol. Shes 4weeks now and getting bigger. Ive read 4weeks is critical stage, why is that? Apart from upping her cat food what else can i do for protein? ive tried mealworms but cant really give her too many can i and she refuses egg and boiled chicken. Kay x

Hiya So far so good. Had been using bee pollen anyway that gizmo won on the the hallooween comp, just thought it was calcium though. Got my emrgancy kit prepared, syringe, lactol, heat pad...better safe than sorry. Heres a cool photo i snapped earlier today, tomorrow(weds) is the 60day mark!

Ok thanks, just sometimes if animals go over a certain time its a bad thing isnt it. The joeys are still in but it really cant be much longer her pouch opening is stretched open now so i can always see a part of a baby, its like something out of alien when they wriggle, quite bizare, lol! I think shes really bonded to me now coz i can still go near her and stroke her in her pouch and stuff whereas if anyone else gets too close they no about it! Fingers crossed she doesnt repeat what happend last time(in another home) im hoping she only did it because of the pressance of another female.

I'd imagine Kay they're at the innie/outie stage, they're out but squeeze back in when threatened/alarmed.
