Hey everyone

! My name is Casey and I'm from Northern Ireland. I'm happy to say that after three years of researching, begging my parents, saving my pennies and finally finding two sugar gliders here that I'm about to get two gorgeous little marsupial friends

!
They are very hard to find here in Northern Ireland, after searching this forum I have only found one lady who has some (that's the lady who has all the chinchillas! sorry I can't remember your name!) And I have never seen them for sale until a few months ago when my local reptile shop got them in. It was my first time seeing them in the flesh and I was so, SO excited. Although the conditions they are in right now are pretty awful, I have been able to interact with them and they seem healthy, so if everything goes to plan within the next week/two weeks I'll be bringing them home

!
It is a male/female pair. And the male is NOT neutered. I was a bit worried about this at first but I volunteer at my local vets and they say they'll be happy to neuter the male when I need it done. However I'd really like to let them have a couple of babies before I have to do that I think

.
I am naming them Donnie and Gretchen (after my favourite movie, Donnie Darko

).
I have a lot of work to do this week, going to build them a cage so I'll be asking lots of questions to make sure I get it right. And I'm going to start practicing preparing their meals everynight just so I know what I'm doing for when they get here!!
I'm a real animal person, they're basically my life. I study an animal management course at college and hope to go on to do either marine biology or zoology at uni in two years.
Here are the current inhabitants of my tiny zoo

Golden retriever called Buffy (best dog ever

)
Western hognose snake called Hannah.
White's tree frog called Ollie.
Rat called Layla (soon to be two rats, she was a recent rescue and I'm just trying to find the right companion for her at the minute

)
Lop eared rabbit called Spazzy.
Several large marine tanks

.
Soon to be added to the list are: a bearded dragon, leopard gecko, hermann's tortoise, common snapping turtle and an african pygmy hedgehog

. But the suggies are coming first and it'll be a while before the rest come!
I'd like to really thank Marie for pointing me in the direction of this lovely forum. Can't wait to show off pics of my new babies

!
Casey.
