okay, ill be picking up gary and oreo in a few weeks

and the diet still has me a little confused, i understand the Ca:Ph ratio

but its got me confused about everything else...

so to my understanding SG need:

a protein source which comes from either, gut loaded crickets/mealworms or eggs *these are just examples*

fresh fruit and veg which there are loads of choices on here thanks guys Smiley

and then a staple food which mark suggested iams+1 cat food ages ago on my first topic

okay this is what i plan to do...

every few days change the protein source for the SG

ranging from -

3 large mealworms *gutloaded*

5 crickets/locusts *gutloaded*

boiled eggs no shell mixed with special k and apple juice one tbsp

fresh fruit - would a medley be okay? with a variety of fruit being diced together? like a fruit meusli Smiley
as long as the fruit all balance out into the same Ca:Ph ratio is this fine?

iams+1 cat food  i think mark said chicken flavour, keeping this in the cage at all times

so, am i on the right track:D xx

sorry i wouldnt class the iams as a staple diet my bad!!  its a protien source, so if you feed egg or chicken dont give them the cat food.

i wouldnt use the gut loaded insects as a food source either more a treat when you feel like it. i wouldnt bother with crickets, pain in the bum. and morios and mealworms are fairly fatty.

there was something else..zookeepers secret?? i think thats what it was

so should i stick with skinless/boneless meats and eggs as the protein source? xx

I would either give boiled egg or scrambled on its own without special k.  Insects are as said more of a treat and bribery for bonding and cutting nails!  I wouldnt both with zookeepers secret.  Just the fruit/veg to the right c/ph ratio and a protein source of either Iams, boiled chicken/egg.  Plus of course vits and calcium if ratiois low.
