Gliders can suffer from infections of the teeth so giving them food that keep their teeth clean is important. Mealeworms are too soft to clean the teeth. Insects with hard exosckeletons will do a good job. Insects like beetles and roaches with hard shells should be added to the diet. An all soft diet will not clean the teeth. This is why many diets include harp pellets like dog or cat food in small amounts.

Branches w/bark on are also good. What is with that "mealworms are to clean teeth" thing?? I used to raise them for finches. Didn't clean their teeth. . . . oh, yeah, they don't have teeth, they just eat mealworms.

You don't have to convince me - that's one of the many reasons I won't use a soft diet.

Nods in agreement

Thats why ours have a bit of crunch in the diet and have acacia gum to chew out of branches,
