The number after the fruit/veg is the calcium content.  So, the first recipe:

Papaya 1 portion + 1/4 of a portion gives a ca:p ratio of 6:1
Green beans 1 portion is 0.97:1
Kiwi 1 portion is 0.65:1
Butternut Squash i portion is 1.5:1
Cat biscuits 1:1

which when you add it down and divide is by the number of food items gives you a grand total of 2.02:1  (assuming the math is correct, I've not checked).

Any clearer?

The 4.8 is the calcium...  Most of the recipes are based on equal parts of each ingredient, but if it says "half again", then you need to add half of the weight again to make the ratios work out.  This may be something you're going to need help from your parents, because ratios can be confusing and I doubt you'll have gone over them in school yet.

No, you can't just give glider chow.  Personally, I wouldn't give it at all.  All animals need a balanced diet, but unfortunately to get that with suggies (and many exotic pets), it takes effort and time.  It's difficult to begin with, but once you get the hang of it, it's pretty easy.  Each fruit should be equal amounts (in weight) unless the recipe you are going off of asks for "half again" (like I explained before).

I have always fed mine with chucks of fruit, pollen, gliderade, etc etc but i am going to start doing the blended recipies on here as they are so selective with their tastes from one night to the next!!

So.... can i ask a slightly different question to the everyone else??   Smiley

Does the sweet potato, carrots etc need to be cooked first?

Tomorrow, weather permitting i am going shopping so i can have a blending frenzy!!  Grin

Thanks for answering, that makes it a little quicker!  I have still added the Glider booster vit suppliment & Glider-cal calcium suppliment.  Is this correct and how much are you adding?
Sorry but i haven't fed them this way before and i feel perhaps i have been given the wrong advice when i bought them after reading all the posts on here!  Angry

Yep, Maisie the TVR! Lmao!!

The glidercal and booster, if you are doing a large batch to freeze then it's half a teaspoon of each per pound of fruit, or you can add a small pinch of each to their food instead.

How do you know how much of each fruit to put in?

Do you put the same emount of each fruit, unless it says half again?
