Me and my family are going on vacation for 2 weeks. We are going to take elvis to the pet shop where his previous owner works and he is going to watch him while we are gone. Will him being with his previous owner again and me being gone for so long effect our bonding? We really havn't gotten that far yet.
Sort of off topic question: I was wondering that if I were to pet him while his previous owner is holding him would he let me pet him and hold him when I take him back home? Is it possible to bond with him through his previous owner?

I'm afraid it probably will affect your bonding. All gliders are different though so what 'upsets' one won't upset another.
I don't think the previous owner holding him while you pet him will help you any, any contact between you and Elvis needs to be a positive experience for him, being held or restrained by another will be a negative.
How did the tent time go?

He hasn't come out of the pouch yet.
I didn't mean like him restrain elvis. I just ment like him having elvis on his shoulder like he used to and me just feeding him treats and petting him. He was at the store the other day and he had one of the gliders at the store sitting on his shoulder and I just went up and pet it and it crawled on me and was perfectly fine. I know all gliders are different though. Elvis might be happy at the shop because they have a glider there right now and elvis might enjoy knowing that he's not alone.

Ahhh, have a word with the previous owner and find out exactly how bonded he was to him (if he'll tell you the truth that is), ask him what he found worked for him.

I remember him saying that he could pick elvis up and he would sit on his shoulder but I don't think he was a super friendly glider.

i'm not sure. I think he's had him for a year. I was there today and they had 3 new gliders, 1 male and 2 females. one of the females instantly bonded with the male so they sold them together and the other female is still there and waiting for her buyer to pick her up tonight. She was adorable! She was cleaning herself in her pouch. Apparently she wanted to look good for her new owner!

ya! She'll be a happy little camper. She had this random black spot in the middle of the white markings on her face. She had a beauty mark! I would of loved to get her but now isn't the right time. I don't want to get her and then her and elvis end up breeding before i can get him nuetered.
Are gliders markings always different? When I get elvis his friend she's going to be another standard grey and I'm afraid I'm not going to be able to tell them apart.
we are way off topic! lol

You learn to tell the differences between your gliders. Somebody who didn't knwo them probably would have no clue, though

yep, that's going to be me at first. When I get him a buddy do you think he will bond more and easier. It's been really hard to bond with him.

Lol - I was thinking the same as Tillie and Jen but didn't want to say anything.
All gliders markings are similar but not exactly the same, there are subtle differences.
