Hi Glider, your gliders sleep pattern is not really that unusual, when i first got mine they did very similar, although this has changed over the past year and they are now tend to be up by about 8 and back to bed again by 8.
try getting your gliders into a routine with their feeding and play time, make sure that their food gets put out at the same time each night and perhaps get them both out of the pouch to show them its dinner time (assuming this is possible, have you started the bonding process yet? how long have you had them?)
Try bringing them out of their cage for their daily play time a little earlier each night as well as getting them their dinner earlier. If they are stimulated enough they'll want to be playing with you rather than having a lay in! Do it gradually, if they're normally getting up at 11pm, try waking them up and 10:30 for a few weeks, they'll soon start getting up at 10:30 on their own, then start waking them up at 10pm till they're used to that, the 9.30pm and so on and so forth until they're happy to get up on their own and a reasonable hour.
As for telling there age, how big is he? how large is his bald patch? What about his dangly bits? are they large or small?
What's the history with these two? You say you got them from someone who didn't know their ages?
Hope this helps a bit
Roxy

Good advice from Roxy there Other things that affects them are the light/dark cycle, alot of people think that because they're nocturnal they should be kept in a dark room at all times, this isn't the case though, they do need a day and night cycle, so make sure the room is light during the daytime. Another little trick you could try is getting them used to the sound of a treat bag, do you give them treats at all? Mine always get up as soon as they hear a rustle!

Can you tell us exactly what you feed? Maybe give a link to the diet you are using?
