Hi Amalthea
Thanks for the welcome.
Am looking for info, maybe you can help?
I am planning to immigrate to the UK in the next three/four years.
BUT I will NOT leave my suggies behind.
Can you tell me more about bringing suggies into the UK from South Africa? Procedures, restrictions etc?
Thank you!

Your gliders would have to go through 6 months quarentine on this side, unfortunately.  But maybe Marie would be able to help you in that respect (Marie?)...

Just so you know, it's not so easy to get into the UK for yourself, either Wink I am American and have recently had to go through a lot of crap to get here to be with my husband.

It is here... I do believe you are allowed to visit your pets in Q, though... I know it's not the same, but it would be better than nothing.

Lucky you with your EU passport!  That's great!! Grin

As Jen has already said 6 months Q in the UK, I don't think you can visit them though ...  not 100% sure on that one though!

Mind you, this was years ago, but I was told that I would be able to visit my cat in Q...  Maybe it's changed?

I dont know if you are still investigating this as an option but I have recently emigrated to the UK from SA where I used to breed gliders  and I made the decision to re-home all of my gliders as I don't think they would have benefitted from being quarantined for 6 months. It was a hard decision but I tried to be unselfish and think of the best thing for them, not me. They are not like a dog (who we did bring with us and we can and do visit weekly) who can easily be cared for by someone else and I doubted the level of care they may have received if they had been quarantined - they may have received an adequate diet but I think they would have been lonely and definitely wouldn't have had "play-time."
Please think it through very carefully before making any decisions and try to put their best interests first.
