Hello,

I'm a reporter at the veterinary times and vet nursing times and would like to write something about SGs in an article I am doing about trends in pet keeping.

I hopefully will be able to pick up a lot of information here but it would also be great to get some quotes people here about the issues involved in taking on such unusual animals, for the article.

If you would like to be quoted in an article then please message me and include your full name, whether you have SGs or not or are thinking of getting some and where abouts you are based.

Also, if anyone has any photos what I could use in an article I would appreciate it.

Also, information about any animals that are relatively novels as pets in the UK would be welcomed.

My email is joeldudley@vbd.uk.com,

Best wishes,

Joe

Hi Joe - naturally, thanks to the articles over the weekend we're very suspicious of reporters!

There's lots of information on the site, and I'm sure we can accomodate you, but PLEASE DO NOT MIS QUOTE US.  I will pm you.

Hi, I'd never misquote anyone. I'm sorry that the coverage you have been getting isn't what you would have wished for. I think newpapers tend to be sensationalist, but it's amazing how so many got the story, along with photos, at the same time.

on the offputting side would it help if I can find the photo of phil with a freshly amputated tail?

and if you want a quote try 400 pounds worth of vet bills in first 4 months due to calcium problems left over from previous owner not using correct diet (and lying about it!)

-one of mine had broken leg, followed by broken tail, and non union, followed by amputation of tail, all in first few months not to mention them both being half of the recommended body weight as their bones were so thin

(mercifully now is up to full body weight and happy)
