Author Topic: God bless Lyle...  (Read 1128 times)

It is with great hurt and heart wrenching sadness that I have to let you know of the loss of one of my gliders, Lyle.

Upon discovering Lyle, yesterday afternoon, as she struggled out of her nest box, dragging her hind legs.
At first i though it was HLP but on closer inspection it wasn't.
Looking at her underside it appeared that her pouch had been literaly torn off, revealing bare muscle etc.. She could not move her right hind leg and she was clearly distressed.
I don't for the life of me know how her pouch had been destroyed, (maybe she had a baby in there and my other gliders wanted to cannablies it?).... maybe she caught it on something in their cage?

Needless to say, my vet said there was only one option, and that was to put her to sleep. (Even she was crying..)

Lyle passed away in her sleep, peacefully.

My memories of her will live on far longer than the little scratches she left on my hands as she went to sleep.

Good night Lyle, my little dust ball, sleep tight, and most importantly, sweet dreams....
