Grin hello everyone, im so excited, buffy had her baby oop 3 days ago but lilly's twins in pouch disapeared the next day, searched everywere and apart from one baby trying to squeeze into what i thought was buffys pouch there was no sign of babies, anyway i thought she had lost them but i just found three babies in the sleeping pouch so buffys baby must have been trying to get in with lillys unborn twins and i thought it was buffy if you know what i mean? so i now have 3 joeys, not sure what sex as ive only just looked at them in the pouch, is there anything i should do for mummies? they all seem very happy together, nobody minded when i took pouch out of cage to look in it but should i wait before trying to handle them? after the heartache of loosing previous babies from a different female i dont want to upset anyone by diving in too soon. mums and dad are eating fruit and iams, i stopped the leadbeaters as i read a few posts by people weaning off it onto iams so i did the same, any advice greatfully accepted, deb

Congratulations.  Have yougot everything in just incase of any rejections?
As long as they are on a good diet already the only thing you can do is up their protein, nothing else needs to change.  It depends on how bonded you are with your gliders as towhen you start handling the joeys.  Mine are happy for me to handle the joeys from day 1 but other breeders wait for a couple of weeks or until their eyes are open.  If you are concerned about them  being rejected if you handle them I would leave it until you think the parents will be comfortable.

Grin   thanks, im so chuffed ive been peeping in the pouch 3 times a day to look at them for a minute, whats the best way to up the protein? they do have the occasional peice of chicken so maybe a bit every night? they are so cute but now i have the problem of not knowing which baby belongs to which mummy and im having trouble telling buffy and lilly apart now as lilly was always the smaller sister so it was easy then buffy had a baby in pouch so was still easy then lilly had two in pouch but now lilly has grown and they both have nothing in pouch so they look identical! i think i may have to have a few late nights sitting up studying them, lilly was always a little more cautious but knowing my luck shes probably brimming with confidence now lol! thanks again for the advice its lovely to find a community where everyones priority is the proper care of the animals.

Grin   hi, just thought i would let you know that i handled all 3 babies last night and they are all girlies, soooo sweet, they have their eyes open now, mums and dad came and sat on me while i took babies out of the pouch but they didnt seem upset just wanted to watch what i was doing i think, lilly was super sweet after i put the pouch back, she sat on my hand for 20 minutes licking me, she may have been trying to distract me actually cos buffy and puffy were stealing pringles at the time, the cheeky monkeys, i will try and take some photos tonight.
