Well, I replied to you on RFUK, but I'll reply here, as well...

I am really sorry...  It is such a shock when they go and they show no signs of being ill at all.

Is your remaining boy neutered?  My advice would be to get him neutered and get him either a girlie friend or a neutered boy, beacuse he needs a freind, but introducing another entire boy to him probably won't work.

Oh no, I'm so sorry Sad.

What are the temperatures like in the gliders room?  Winter is an awful time for animals with such a fast metabolism, all the energy goes on keeping warm, they slip in to a deep torpor and slip away   Sad

oh poor you! im so sorry.

my gliders hate me at the minute coz i am constantly waking them up to check that they all alive. i think what works in my favour is i have 6 together, so when the temp changes slightly, they are all snuggled up together keeping warm.

im so sorry for your loss. hope you find another one soon.

I've spoken to Max, he and his wife are absolutely devastated!  I'm gutted for them!  In case you didn't notice Max I was almost in tears too!

I've advised to give the remaining glider a little time to come to terms, I'm a believer in allowing them to adjust, last time I lost a glider I put her in with a trio just days later, she became very aggressive!  These animals bond to one another so it stands to reason that when one is lost the other will 'miss' the company, the intrusion of another is not always welcomed.  I have advised to continue with the routine as normal, feeding, out of cage time etc.  but keeping a close eye on him for signs of depression.

Please don't blame yourselves, these things do happen!  Sad

i think the little time Holly spent by herself did her some good when it came to introducing her to the group. she was a nasty peice of work before Dweezil died, and i was worried about other gliders in her cage, but she was soo happy for the company, she didnt spat on with any of them, which i think helped in the long run. there were no fights at all in her cage, the only glider she had bother with was Onion, but that was over as soon as Onion went into the cage.

i am so sorry to hear of your loss.  Give your little man some time to grieve for the loss of his partner and try introducing him to a new friend in the new year.
