Hi all, its been some time now since I lost Lye and so things are getting back to normal now with my other three fur balls (Tate, Kuame and Pumba), apart from one thing.
For the past week now iv'e noticed that Tate doesnt 'bed down' in their communial nest box any more and I always find him in another box I have for them. They all seem to be getting on fine with each other and there's deffinatly no fighting between them. Is it ok for me to have my three male gliders living together, theyv'e not been neutured.

Any advice would be great.

many thanks from Rich.

Is he definately NOT being bullied?  And (sorry to ask) he is in good health?  Have they been together as a colony for a while?  I have a trio of males living together and another pair living together peacefully, I wouldn't worry too much if you're sure he's not being picked on, I quite often find with my little groups that 1 SG will sleep on their own occasionally.

Perhaps you can watch to see that he is choosing to sleep alone rather than being pushed out by a more dominant male. Having a second feeding station away from your standard one may be prudent so that you know that all gliders are getting sufficient food in spite of any territorial issues.

I dont think Tate is being bullied as he is the father of my clan and he is huge  Smiley and he is in perfect health, (very active, strong, lovely coat etc...) . I'm just in the middle of buliding them a bigger house because maybe there isn't enough room in their nest box at the moment. I'll definatly put in an extra feeding station for them though.
Many thanks for your suggestion.

Cheers all from Rich.

Good to hear - I just had to check on the health thing as ill or dying gliders are often kicked out of the nest as they pose a predator risk!

Maybe he just wants some time away from the kids  Wink

Problem sorted...
Hi all, my Gliders have all settled down in their new 'delux' house and there have been no more issues. Grin Iv'e still left their old house in the cage just so that they have a choice.

Cheers all for your help.

from Richard.

Great news! I guess everyone wants a bit of alone time occasionally.
