I have heard having yellow hair is a sign of a bad diet.

Well I have had Missy since she was 8 wks and she had yellow hair back then (then she was on BML until she was about 2 months old.) I then switched her to SunCoast and now she is on HPW. Nothing has changed about the yellow. Could it just be her coloring? BTW i believe her to be a BB.

I've been worried about it but scared to ask. Also the vet has seen her and thinks she is very healthy and that I am very knowledgable (he said that!   Smiley )

Also she has black dots like freckles on the "lip" of her pouch (I'm always examining it to make sure its healthy) Has anyone else noticed this about thier suggies? I know its not an infection or anything, the vet said it was fine but he hadn't seen it before either.

Thanks yall!

oh!!!! almost forgot here is a pic of her belly:

The yellow is only on her belly too.

Her saliva and the moisture in her pouch contain protein. When she licks, cleans herself, this protein can discolor her hair. Urine from other gliders marking her in the nest or her own urine on her pouch or branches can also cause the light/white parts of her hair to be yellowish. If this bothers you, you can use a Nature's Miracle wipe which might make her tummy a bit lighter. But it's not a health issue and is typical of gliders. A little pigment on the edge of her pouch is ok and normal for her. Now if the pouch is inflamed and red, that's a different thing and something that requires a vet.

No the yellow doesn't bother me at all. I just want to make sure She is healthy. Thats my biggest concern.

Her pouch is not inflamed or red. Its quite little actually (to many anyways I've never seen another glider's pouch)

Thank you, Dee!! You are such a big help!
