Hi there.....
now that i have the time (finally) to confront my ways to do things, with others....( my italian forum and here :curtsie:)
i decided to maybe try other ways to feed my new gliders.....i can see that u do things different and im interested Cool
i used to feed fruit vedgies, gliderade, acagia gum, BML and a variety of live insects fed with calcium and vitamins in to the gliders i had.
The SG were all fine, always bred normally and healthy.
But as gliders dietary researches improves, i would like to do the same for my suggies and because it took a while before i got other gliders when mine died...after more than a year, is not that i didnt mantain interest to them, but not as i do now, researching for all the latest infos everyday.    Roll Eyes
So, any suggestion or opinions about this way to feed? what do u think, are the cat bikkies better?
i decided not to give them BML anymore....and im looking forward to find something more reliable, i like them to feed as much close to natural as possible

How old were your suggies when they died and what did they die from?

Take a look through the stickied diets here for starters.

well.... Tawnee was the oldest one and she was 6-7 years old, Uncle Fester was 5, Wapeeka 4......
the second colony was younger, they were about 2-3 years old....the third one, 2 joeys born one from each of the colonies were just weaned.
It was a very terrible and sad loss.
i went away for a weekend, it was summer, and was very hot.
the person who was supposed to take care of them, left all the windows opened, not thinking that anything could happen.....unfortunately that night a cold and windy storm arrived, and because all house's windows were opened.....
well, when i got back what i've found was two and half entire colonies on the bottom cages......two of them still attached and hanging on the aviaries bars, but all dead. Sad
its not something i like to talk about, but ill never forget that morning....never mind all the glass around the house, on the floor....
i've waited a lot before i decided to get other gliders....in the meantime i had a baby so i waited.
But how can u stay with no gliders around, once u knew them

Oh my... Sad How horrible...  It's hard enough losing one at a time, but to lose them all in one fail swoop...  I can't imagine. :there there:

looking at theyr pics brings me both happyness and sadness ( ive got LOADS i love to make pics to my pets)
But ill never forget them....they helped me out through a tuff moment and ill never thank them enough for what they gave to me

Really, we're supposed to try to stay on topic, but it's inevitable that we wander a bit...  So don't sweat it.  We won't kick in your knee caps for going OT Wink
