How do you use the F10 for wounds??  One of my little girlie rats (I know not a glider, but I figgered this would be useful here... *shrugs*) has a sore patch she keeps scratching, making it worse.  Have been using tea tree cream on her, but it's just steadily getting worse.

As a cleaner use it as you would for cleaning anything.  We use it at 5ml to a litre of water, that is the strongest use should use and it won't do her any harm.  You can also get F10 Wound Ointment which is a vaseline consistency, and that cleans the wound as well as aiding healing.

Bloody good stuff F10 is!

Great! Smiley Thanx much!!  If she's not any better by Saturday, I might get some of the ointment from ya (if you sell it).  It's just like a never ending cycle with her...  She scratches it cuz it itches, which cuts her, so it scabs, which itches, so she scratches.  And she's a busy little thing, always into stuff, so getting her to be calm is useless. *lol*

imagine, instead of the whole of the eye being black, about 3/4 is white. she in on thursday to find out what the hell is wrong with her, so i know how you feel about a neverending story! haha

Well, she seems to be improving!!  :loulou:  I am using the F10 and a bit of aloe vera gel to reduce the itch.  Now the edge of the patch is looking much better, but the center is still scabbed over and sore.  But getting there!

Not sure what is causing it...  She seems to get dry skin, so that may be it.  Nothing in her cage has changed since I've had her except I've moved onto cardboard bedding.  She was on paper before.  So I dunno if it's an allergic reaction or not.  I got some carefresh, so I'm going to try that and see if it makes a difference.  I just really don't know...

some rats are llergic to shavings, but i noticed you dont use them. Carefresh is meant to be really good for allergies and so is bark chip, but i dont know if rats can have that or not.

btw, i wont be using shavings for my rats either. i have heard it can lead to respiratory problems? is this correct Jen? ive never had rats before so im trying to learn as much as poss.

is it one of the nekkid rats? sounds silly, but if yes, she may be allergic to other rats fur. one of my dogs is allergic to the other dogs fur and they are the same breed. its just one of his allergies, sopmething to do with the amount of oil created in the other dogs fur that aggrivates him.

Yup, she's nekkid...  I wouldn't think it was an allergy to another rat, because she came to me with another (furry) rat.  But it's an idea.

And yup... Shavings are bad for rats.  The phenols in the soft wood (usually it's made from the center of pine) can be very harmful to a rat's respiratory system.
