I checked on my group yesterday morning before I left for work, and heard them chattering away as I left to go training last night at about 7.  I went into their room to feed them at about half 10 and found Lilo had got out of the cage and was huddled in a corner of the room really cold, with her little paws almost black. I scooped her straight up into my bra, got the oat bag in the microwave and made her up some warm food and honey. I could kick myself for running out of Gliderade.
She reacted the first time I put the warm watery honey to her mouth and started licking. I thought that was surely a good sign. I even got her to take a little baby cereal, and when the hubby offered her a bit of apple she grabbed it and bit it, albeit slowly. I really thought she was pulling through.
She seemed to be passing in and out of consciousness though, but when she was awake she was trying to scrabble about, even tried to crab at us, but no noise came out.

She gave up her fight in the hubbys arms at about 1 this morning, my poor little sweetheart.

I am heartbroken....

So sorry about your baby. It is always so hard to lose someone who is part of the family.

Thanks guys, she was my first glider.

Just ordered a new cage for the rest of the group, not wanting to risk another escape. they had bounced on a ledge and snapped a bar on the cage, leaving what shouldn't be enough room to squeeze through, but it was.

do we like the villa redonda?
