my friend has recently bought some gliders off a woman. they seem extremely young and small to me, and also my friend.  How old roughly do we think we are looking at?

i have advised her to join on here so she can get the correct vit and cal suppliments as the advise she had been given wasnt great (grapes as per usual), baby food, reptile calcium blah blah.

Shocked Shocked I've no idea on age, but they look too young to have been taken from their mother to me.

Oh my, their eyes and ears don't look fully opened.... they seem a little too young to me.  Undecided
I'd expect them to be a little bit bigger, brighter eyes and jumping around a bit, they look as though they should still b clinging on to mum.

I'm sure Marie or the others will be on in a bit to give you a more informed opinion.

thanks you two so far. that what i felt too. the eyes seem very bulbious, like they havnt long been opened. and they have a furry tail, but it not bushy like my hollys (and to be fair, Holly hasnt got the bushiet of tails anyways).

i thought exactly the same michelle about the clinging thing. they look rather "clingy" dont they? like they lost.

You could possibly see if your friend would let you see them?
They may still be weaning, so they might need your help for the next few weeks.... i'm sure one of the others will be able to give better guidelines - i've never bred gliders/looked after baby ones myself.

They may still be weaning
That's what I'd be most worried about.

Did they say what they are feeding them or if they're even eating at the moment?

its been so long since i had babies around, we talking about 4 years (Holly was the last born from when my mother bred), but my mam had bad advice on how to look after infants (thanks to a certain shop marie and i hate)

i am planning on helping her out as much as possible, she odnt live far from me luckily so if there is a problem i can be straightover if thats what she wants.

they were feeding them on baby puree, grapes, lactol milk and rep powder. i gave them the ingredients to a 2:1 diet.

ive just been on the phone to her. she coming to mine with them tomorrow so i can see them properly and she can see mine. they are the size of her hubbies thumb and are so clingy, clinging to his fingers and arms etc.

Good, it's lucky she knows you Smiley

From what you've said and the pics I'd say they are definitely too young, sounds like the 'breeder' she got them from isn't a very good one Sad

Well they're lucky to have you around to help them out.
Imagine what would have happened if they went straight to some random person on the street who took their advice as gospel?!?

Might be an idea to find out who this lady is - in case she fancies breeding hers regularly to sell on at that age with that diet!  Lips sealed

Does your friend know what sex they are as well?

wow, they do look small, would be better to have more close up pics.  Can your friend ask the person who she got them from about how old they are?

everyone is lucky they know me. its coz i mint.

i went mental. i mean, i was quite annoyed last weekend over another glider matter, but this i was furious. the woman needs bloody shot!

i just cant wait to see them so i can see the damage myself. i had to get her to buy a large hamster cage with levels as i was nervous about them getting weak and falling off a larger cage. i felt shocking enough for having to recommend that, but im happier that they in that for time being then the Tommy Tank the breeder had them in. Sad when they bigger and stronger, she getting an avariy off ebay for them.
