Some of us just keep a couple of sugs in one large cage and that's enough fun and just the right number. But others of us have more or want to eventually have more. What's your ideal number of little suggie buddies in your home?

I'm new to gliders since March this year, and initially, I only wanted 2/3 of the same sex for company Roll Eyes
Because I know precious little about suggies, breeding wasn't an option for me, and so I ended up with a wee colony of 5.....2 neutured males and 3 females Cheesy
When I suddenly lost my little Yan 8 days ago, I was so glad that I still have the other 4 together for company Grin
I dread to think what would have happened if I only had taken 2...... Embarrassed

I really would LOVE to see a wee joey in real life though Grin

That's why I have three - just in case something happens to one, the other won't be alone. . . . .
And I agree w/you about having a joey or two. It would be so nice but only if everything turned out ok. If I saw the mom or dad eating a baby, it would be very hard for me. . . .

I myself don't count just the number of suggies in my home.  I go by the total number of animals. I think all the animals need equal care and attention and that you should never have more animals than you can honestly give adequate care and playtime to.

For myself, this is 6-8 animals total.  I used to have ferrets, and when I did, we had 6 sugar gliders and 2 ferrets.  Now that I do not have my ferrets anymore, I have 6 sugar gliders and no other pets.  And that is fine for me at the time being.  They all get enough playtime and are equally spoiled rotten.  At the moment I have 6 adults and 5 babies actually.  They are very cute but I do agree it is not for the weak hearted.

Um... we have 3 pairs here that are full time homers and thats perfect fro me, we have 6 joeys here as well, which will be going to new homes as and when having 12 is kinda time consuming but i enjoy it and love watching the way my joeys go from scared and untrusting to loverble little fluffballs. the parents are all soppy as hell, and tbh since moving them from their own rooms into cages they have become even betterer.
