I posted a message last night in histerics as I didn't know what to do about it.

My mum's cat (all black and hard to see in the dark) managed to sneak into our room last night and wake us up with an almighty clatter. He managed to open the cage and attack Tifa, our female suggie. Azz locked Wolfie (the cat) in the bathroom after catching him trying to climb into the cage to get her brother Tidus. Tidus is fine, no scratches, just a bit shaken. Tifa on the other hand was not so lucky. I wrapped her in a blanket after finding her near the door, obviously trying to escape, and straight away called the emergancy number for the vet. By the time we managed to get through to someone she was already gone. She was only young but she was a part of our family. In 3 years I've never seen my partner cry - last night he couldn't stop. Neither could I. We sat with Tidus all night - we didn't show him his sister as we didn't want to distress him. He still seems shaken up and obviously missing his sister.

It just shows how quickly something like this can take place as only hours before we took new pictures of them both to send to some friends in London.

We called them the kids and thats what they will always be: Our kids

We love you Tifa
Mum and Dad x

PS anyone who has cats as well, or any other animal that can attack your suggies, please close the door to the room they are in every time you enter or leave a room and check that no animals are in there with them - We thought mum's cat was outside at the time

How awfull, so sorry for your loss.  I hope you find a new friend for Tidus soon.

(we keep a water gun in the room with the gliders, when we are in there and the cats show an interest in the gliders they get a squirt of water and dash off, the cats are not allowed in the room when we are not there)

Ah just read up, I hear you've already found him a new [albeit bedraggled] friend! Looking forward to hearing how it goes. Smiley
