couple more questions...

should we stay up with her in the bonding pouch, or should we put her back in with the male

should we let her sleep?

is she active? if not I would be tempted to put her in a geo with a statted heat mat underneath. If you do not have a heat mat or stat then in a very warm room, that way if she gets weak overnight she will not just give up on the bottom of the cage and get too cold to move.

If she is full of energy and jumping about then put her in the cage but make sure its warm and check on her every couple of hours

this is only what I would do and is by no means a you must do post

we have a spare vivarium and heat mat we could get warm

though if staying up with her is the best thing, that's what we'll do

our other concerns are with stressing her out more (and the male) by separating them

I think we are going to sleep in the living room tonight and take turns to keep an eye on her

Cheers

Ok, that's good Smiley.  I wouldn't worry about the stress thing just yet, the immediate problem that needs to be addressed is her health issues.  But also, suggies can be quite brutal, they will kick an ailing glider out of the nest.  So best to keep her seperate tonight and see how she is tomorrow.  I've got my fingers crossed for this little girl, sounds to me like you're not the sort of person to give up without a fight.  Smiley.   :hope:

I just wanted to say that I truly hope your little girl is a fighter!!  Sounds like she's got a big one ahead of her.  Well done you for helping her through it in every way you can.

I hope your wee glider makes a full recovery.
It sounds as if you are doing everything you can for her.

Hi

So far so good, she is still very slow, but we slept on the sofa and kept her in a "hospital" vivarium with a heat mat, we also got up every 2 hours to check on her and give her some more food and critical formula.

At 5 am she refused the baby food, but she did have some melon, some of the formula and a bit of boiled egg.

Mog the male was barking all night for her, so even if she pulls through we are going to buy a female joey so that they will be in a trio and hopefully wont get so lonely if anything happens in the future.

I'll keep everyone updated and thanks to everyone for their comments and help

Glad to hear she made it through the night!  Brilliant news, I hope she continues to fight and improve for you.  Before intoducing a third have a read through the sticky introducing gliders, it's a bit risky to intro a joey to two adults due to size differences.  Is she back at the vets today?

Hi

Got a bit of bad news. Gizmo has now taken a turn for the worst, she has neurological problems now too. She is covered in her own urine, she can't walk properly at all now, she keeps trying to walk "no where" (she doesn't really know where to go and keeps hobbling into a space then changing her mind again), she has also had a couple more minor seizures and has fallen over quite a few times Sad

I've taken her back to the vet, who has given her another injection - this time to perk up her apatite and give her a little more energy. He thinks that she has a Neurological disease, but he's not sure how it's been caused.

She is still eating a little, I've now got hold of some Glucose powder to mix into the baby food that I've been giving to her. I'm sleeping on the sofa again tonight and I'll be feeding and checking on her every couple of hours.

Only time will tell now  Sad

Thanks again for all of you help and concerns and I hope I'll be posting some good news soon x
