So a month later our baby glider is fully weaned, eating his fruit mush and meal worm as a treat once or twice. Hes gliding about without any problems and has a full size cage the same as mum and dad does (hopefully we'll combine them sometime soon) Baby and Dexter met today for the first time by accident almost and curiosity on there part and ours. They had a squabble for 5 seconds and baby glided away. Dexter was also neutered successfully without any issues or problems and was just as lively when we picked him up as he was when he first went into the vets!

When is it best to start introducing them to each other. Bare in mind August 6th was when he was fully out of pouch. There cages are currently side by side but divided by a sheet of wood to stop them seeing each other. Baby has cried out once or twice when hes heard Dexter bark or them squabble but other than that they seem to be fine in the same room and that seems to only happen once in a while anyway.

I presume we need to just wait until hes big enough to fend for himself with them. We'd obviously never leave them all alone together yet. Also, is it okay to put Cal and Booster into his diet now?

He should be super happy tomorrow as our Fuzzbutt order is at the post office waiting. (Lets hope hes not scared of those Pumpkins!)  Roll Eyes

PS: Just a huge thanks to Marie and anyone else who gave us advice and information on how to look after hand rear joeys. This site has been a huge help and without it we probably would have struggled 10x as much as we did even with all the good information. There truely is no way to describe the feeling of waking every few hours heating up milk and repeating for a whole month Grin

YAY!!  I'm so pleased he's fully weaned and healthy.  Great news!   Grin

Yes, it's fine to give him what the adults eat now and as Jen said, I'd remove the barrier so they can see each other Smiley

Removed the barrier between the cages last night. they all were scared of each other at first but were fine through the night. They were looking at each other then going away as normal a few times. all is good with that gone. One step at a time I guess  Smiley

So...

Our pal Dexter was neutered and our little joey is weaned, separated and doing well on his own. Yesterday I fed Daisy a few treats while shes laid on me and I stroke her belly and guess what? A nice lovely sized lump in her little pouch. Yes folks. Daisy is expecting again. The vet mentioned that Dexter could be still fertile for up to a month after his op and lo and behold he was!

Round 2 is about to start.  Huh

He seems much smaller than Daisy's first but we think that's because her first is now growing up and in bouncy teenager glider mode  Grin

NO MORE PLEASE DEXTER, YOU'VE HAD THE SNIP... or at least thats what the vet told us! Cheesy

Okay, noticed some bald patches over the last few days. A little on top of his head and some under his right eye. I've mentioned before that Daisy ate all Dexter's whiskers and still to this day they've not grown back and she regularly nibbles him when he sleeps so this is why were a little concerned about the little one.

He seems fine most of the time, she stimulates him fine too. He cries now and again when they're all in the pouch together but the cries could mean anything and we've not seen any nastiness towards him.

Heres some crappy iphone pics that show nothing.  Undecided

Sigh.. Not looking good folks. Daisy is starting to bite again and baby has been crying out a few times in the last 24 hours. We left them all to it this time and done our best not to interfere but I sense De Ja Vu!  Roll Eyes
