hi I have a silly problem Im not sure about , I want to start the bonding process with my gliders only problem is ever since i got them 2 weeks ago they don't like pouches :s when i picked them up from the person that sold me them I put them in with a towel and ever since they only like towels they like to wrap them selves together in the towel ? I'm not sure how to get them in to the bonding pouch with out touching them :S but it states not to handle them till you are bonded :S.

another thing that im not sure on is the fact that my sugar gliders are dead shy and scared all the time I kbnow it takes time for them to get used to you but im not sure :s if that will affect the bonding process or should i wait alittle longer to make them feel more confortable with me . I have been placing stuff ive worn in the cage and sit and watch them at a comfortable distance and will feed them treats through the bars .
can any body make any suggestions or guide me at all I have read the bonding link on here.

sorry for the sillyness Im sure Im over reacting but I like to seek out other peoples advice it's always helpful.

Have you tried hanging a pouch in their cage and putting their towel in that?  So that they go into the pouch on their own....

Until they are bonded try just keeping the bonding pouch in their cage rather than a sleeping pouch, you can then zip up, remove pouch a go Smiley

i was thinking of that but shall i take the towel out :S as they dont want to go in the pouches  when the towel is there Im not sure why but they love the hand towel :S. I have a hanging pouch :S i could rub or place some thing they have scented on it . that should sort the problem out .

If you put the towel in the pouch you won't be able to close it!  Grin  Maybe rip it up and put some of the towel in there?  I think it's likely to be the smell they like, if that's the first thing you wrapped them in then it's going to have a familiar scent which the pouches won't have.  Maybe you should wear a strip of the towel next to your skin for a day and put that in too so that way they will become familiar with your scent too.   Smiley

Yeah - good point Jen, I'm not keen on suggies and towels TBH mainly because they snag so easily and the claws can get caught up and threads twisted round limbs ... hmmm, maybe avoid towels if possible.
