stupid stupid phil!!!
tried taking the collar off last night... left him half hour (watching) kept on licking the area+++ only thing that would distract him was yogurt not even cat biscuits worked.....
and by end half an hour one area was raw and one area of skin broken... silly boy.... had completely healked and closed so although not major wound
put him back into collar... no way can risk him actually breaking it open again... doubt he would be so lucky 2nd time arouund.... but worried as he has lost 10g as not eating as well as normal!
how long do you think I should leave him in collar this time - will another 5 days be enough for it to be properly healed and bomb proof...
and how can I ensure he doesnt lose more weight...
worried if he gets too light then wont maintian body temperature (and he is sleeping on top the fleeces in preference to underneath for comfort I think!)
please advice! and yes I guess it means this boy due to all his previous surgerys and traumas is one I should have left alone and not had done...better that than potentially losing him to weight loss or open wound..... rah!

other issue is he is very yellow and mucky underneath from lack of grooming
can I or should I try to wash him and wipe him down with baby wipe?
and would have to do all the others too so they smell the same!
.... concerned if he trys to groom as he is soo scancy will end up being too vigorous and taking it right back to square one again!

I think phil has a wretched death wish...
took collar off and there is a raw area under his chin and a flap of fur that he has managed to pull off so effectively he has a loose collar hanging down.
vets cant see him until tommorow and I darent cut it off incase it isnt dead...
so I now have a glider frantically cleaning his bits (hoiping he doesnt re open the wound)
who now has a new wound and has effectively started skinning himself...
he is kamacasi
all I can think is that in his desire for food he has pushed his head down to hard and grated himself on the collar...
I should have checked but he was fine without a mark from week 1
and has not shown (still isnt showing any signs of pain)
means another crazy day rushing back on motorway to get him to the vets how much more can he survive.... or my sanity for that matter.
