Hi there and welcome along. Ask as many questions as u like. I will ask you the question that everyone else will ask you. Are you just getting the one glider as it's not good to keep them on their own, stress depression and death can be the result of a lonely glider.

Hi Mark

He's coming in as a "rescue" and (at the moment) I don't know too much about him other than he's about 6-9 months old and lives alone in a "converted rabbit hutch" which even I with my very limited knowledge knows this is totally un suitable for the little man.

I'm going to try and find him a friend but have no idea on introducing or anything like that, Im also trying to find out what would be the best cage to get him, accessories and the diet looks quite complex........LOTS to learn but I've got a couple of weeks so hopefully by the time he arrives I'll be ready for him.

How do introductions work? Would I need a younger or older friend for him do you think and where would I find a lone female, if it's a female you'd reccomend...........

Welcome to the forum Smiley

The new friend needs to be ABOUT the same size, so an adult would be fine Smiley If he's not neutered, you're best of getting him "done" and then get a couple friends (another neutered male pair, neutered male/female, female/female) Smiley

not to be less positive....be prepared for hard slog.... mine officially werent rescues... at half body weight with incorrect diet they so were!!
and a broken leg, broken tail, amputated tail, jaw abcess and removal of old fracture and dead jaw bone, and a few hypos were my first 6 months reward!!!

now however 2 years on I have 2 healthy ish gliders and rather unexpected extra 3!!! (not necessairly adviced!)

make sure you have all your supplements and bits prepared,
a plan for diets
people lined up to help should you need them
a heater (if they are underweight may need extra temp boost!)
and a fund for vet visits should you need it!
insurance??? maynot be feasible if you are getting them as rescues.

good luck!

Tillie no longer uses the forum, she had to sell her gliders.  Resend it to me what you need to know and I'll help Smiley.

oh that's too bad - but you've already helped me and I think I'm getting there.  I just wanted to know EVERYTHING all at once which is never going to happen with such complex little creatures so I've calmed down a bit and taking it one day at a time, I'm not thick so hopefully I'll get there.
