I'm often asked what exactly do I feed, I recently had to put the plan in writing for someone new to gliders so I thought I'd post it here so it's easy for everyone. Smiley

If you suspect they have had a poor diet before you got them then I'd recommend giving them the calcium supplement daily for about 2 weeks.  Then settle in to the plan below.

Vary the fruits and veg that you feed, items that are classed as 'superfoods' for their high nutritional value are sweet potato, papaya, and blueberry.  Try to include some of these in to the diet.  I prefer to feed more veg than fruit, or at least 50/50.

Day 1
1 tablespoon of fruit veg mix each
5 - 6 iams biscuits each
Glider Booster
GliderCal
Bee pollen (mixed in with fruit mush)

Day 2
1 tablespoon of fruit veg mix each
5 - 6 iams biscuits each
Glider Booster
Acacia gum (mixed in with fruit mush)

Day 3
1 tablespoon of fruit veg mix each
5 - 6 iams biscuits each
Glider Booster
GliderCal
Gliderade or nutriglider

Day 4
1 tablespoon of fruit veg mix each
5 - 6 iams biscuits each
Glider Booster
Bee Pollen

Day 5
1 tablespoon of fruit veg mix each
5 - 6 iams biscuits each
Glider Booster
Glider Cal
Acacia Gum

Day 6
1 tablespoon of fruit veg mix each
5 - 6 iams biscuits each
Glider Booster
Gliderade or Nutri glider

Day 7
1 tablespoon of fruit veg mix each
5 - 6 iams biscuits each
Glider Booster

We use cat food as the protein source and have done for many years. Only about 5 biscuits per glider, it adds the crunch to the diet which is necessary for healthy teeth and gums. Smiley

Yeah, that's right.  If you are using the fruit/veg mixes in the thread already worked out for you, then cal isn't necessary every day.  Gliderade is a luxury for them, so again, not necessary on a daily basis.   Smiley

Just wondered - does it matter which flavour Iams? Or is whatever they prefer okay? I have only seen lamb or chicken biscuits.

No, not at all. Whatever they prefer is fine :] Mine love the chicken flavour so I tend to buy that the most Cheesy

I bought some for them but they are having trouble biting them.  They lick them and try to crunch them, but then give up.

If they are having problems, then maybe soak them for a short while in the fruit/veg mush (If you feed that diet) to soften them up a bit. It could just be that they aren't used to something so crunchy if they haven't had them before, and maybe after soaking them a few times they will get a taste for them and start chomping away.
