Hello please anyone give me any advice or past experiences, tips etc. Here's the case:
Stinky has for the last 2 days had his weewillywinkie hanging out. At first I was particularly worried as it was out further than I had ever seen before, maybe an inch or more  Shocked I didnt know they were so long! I have done lots of research and read lots of really interesting and helpful forums including the one on here titled 'prolapsed penis?'. I just want a few more opinions.
Here are the details that I'm sure will help you to help me: Stinky is about 4 years old now. Recently (the last 2 weeks) he has become a ultra hyper and total kamikaze dare devil fluffy... doing mad stunts and being so energetic. He is eating heathily and drinking and his usual bright eyed chirpy self. Stinky and Whiffy are brothers and not neutered, as far as I know they have never shared with or met another sugarglider since leaving mummy fluffy. Stinky is definitely the dominant male, his gland patches are much bigger than whiffy's and he seems to be boss. Not last night but the night before I noticed his woohoo hanging out his behind and not retracting. It didnt seem to bother him, he is still weeing and pooing no problem. In fact he pays no attention to it whatsoever, no licking or flossing. It has retracted a bit and is now only hanging out a few mm but I am still worried. There is no discolouration on the fork, main bit or cloaca and it is not dry. Some sites said to put KY jelly on it, I will go get some first thing tmoro but meanwhile I put a tiny bit of vaseline on it, I hope that wont do any harm.
I have read many things with regards to what it may be; urinary infection/ dehydration/ serious prolapse/ just a horny fluffy... I hope it is the last option! Apparently this time of year they often become lil horndogs..  Embarrassed
Anyway please give me any opinions or tips, im a worried mummy. I'll do anything for my little ones!
Thanks!

thank you for your reply. I have taken your advice and have been putting KY on. it has retracted a little more so now hanging out only a couple of mm. It has been out for 4days now which is a long time so I'm still quite worried about him. I will continue putting it on. He's not licking it off which is good. He is still absolutley mad, I havnt changed their diet, Im hoping he's just happy. but I will keep you posted on the progress of the willy situation and thanks again for your help.

it is still hanging out a few mm despite lubing up, it has been nearly a week now. he can get it out more and put it back to where it is but not fully retracted still. do you think a vet visit is in order? i was thinking i would try to get an appointment for tomorrow or tues morning. My usual vet John Chitty has moved. I am based in Canterbury, do you know any specialists nearby? I think I read a post from someone saying there was one in Maidstone, does anyone have the number for it? Or maybe there is a vet even closer?
Thank you for your time,

There is no discolouration (red or black), he toilets normally, no hissing or anything when he wees?  Is he scratching at the area any more than normal?  Does it look clean?

It could be that he's cleaning himself and not putting himself away properly before coming out which sounds daft but females sometimes do the same with their nipples!

If it'll set your mind at ease then take him to the vets.   Smiley

I have spoken to John Chitty the vet who I used to take him to and remembers him. He said that if it has been slowly retracting, keep up with the KY and he is going to call again on Wednesday. He asked if there was one or 2 ends hanging out and there is 2.. he said if there was only one it could be very bad. There is no discolouration, he is toiletting fine, it is looking clean and he's not paying any attention to it at all! Neither scratching or seeming to clean the area. Very odd!
The maidstone vet recommended I bring him in, and I am waiting for a call back from a dover exotics vet. I will combine these 3 vets advice and decide if I can wait and continue or if I will bring him in for a check up.
I'll let you know, thanks again!

Personally I'd continue with the ky. He gave advice rather than insisting you rush him in (remember vets are a business), he also knew there should be two bits not just the one. The penis is split in two most ot the way so if there was just the one bit out the other is likely to be twisted ... Ouch!!! He would not be acting normally at that point, it would be obviously painful and probably some self mutilation around the area. Excessive scratching is more akin to a uti.

yeah sounds like that first vet knew what he was talking about when it came to suggies, which is a rarity! lol

Hows his winky now?

tbh the vet that advised you rather than called you in would be a winner for me, its clear he is not just after making a quick buck and he knew what he was talking about. Good vets that wont milk you dry are hard to find so dont let this one escape LOL
