Okay, so Furbeh had her twin boys and they are 7 weeks out of pouch and nearly fully weaned. Nearly is the key word.
I saw her give birth 3 days ago, but the twins are still trying to climb back in sometimes, and its made her stomach all stretched and sore looking.
Will Gordon and Gareth (the twin boys) detach the newborn suggie/suggies?
Also, i shall be getting Gizzmo neutered after this litter is out of pouch and are OK. Because i'l be keeping their next litter, as iv already promised this pair to someone.
I know she has 2 wombs and can "hold" a pregnancy in both sides until she is ready, and evidently she felt ready to give birth. But i dont know if she is.
(the twin boys now weigh 38 grams each) Which isnt right for thier age, is it?
I am not an expert or do i want to be a breeder, it just happened and Gizzmo can say goodbye to his furry little pompoms within a month!
Also is there any tips to get the babies to take more fruit and to eat a full iams biscuit. Or would scrambled egg mixed with the fruit be a better idea? x

At 7 weeks they should be too big to get in to her pouch. She coud have an infection in her pouch if it's all red and swollen, I'd recommend a trip to the vets.

Also, (sorry forgot to put this bit) at 7 weeks old they should be eating fruit and veg with no problem now. What are the tails like?

Its not exactly swollen, it just looks abit of a sore red around the lips of the pouch.
The babies are only picking at the food and thier tails are fluffy but not fully yet. They are well into the 7th week now, so it should be another 2 weeks and they'l be okay. Thier weight is abit low? They always have full little bellies and theyv put on so much weight in the past 2 weeks of picking at fruit. But they point blank refuse protein of any sort. Chicken, or iams cat biscuits or little bits of meat cut into tiny cubes.

If the pouch is even slightly red she needs to see a vet. Red is not a healthy colour.
If they won't the iams you can try either soaking them in fruit juice or you could try bashing them up in to small pieces and mix it in. They may be eating protein when you're not watching them?

I'l take furbeh to the vets day after tomorrow. Its the earliest iv got a day off of work when an appointment is available. Im doubting they would of had a chance to grab any when i werent looking, they biscuits are mum and dads favorite. They tried to glide today, the darker male is alot more alert than the whiter faced male, he seems almost doeful. =/ What can i exactly do to prevent the babies perhaps getting detached? My suggie males do seem alittle behind schedule growing wise. Her pregnancy and feeding them, taking care of them were perfect. The babies have full coats, tails begun to fluff, but isnt quite there. They begun responding to noises i make and different effects of lights on/off x

I'm afraid there's not much you can do to prevent them from dying at that stage of pregnancy. IF the pouch is inflammed then they might have already gone.

You live in the north east though =[ I live in southampton, its on the london commute so we get london prices at times. I go to PETVET, its just closer.
They check reptiles for free there as they specialize in exotic pets. They didnt have sugargliders on the system but at least they know what they were, unlike the other vets i phoned in my area!

you should shop around, I used to live inside the M25 ring and I had a nice cheap vet, not all London vets are expensive but you are right some do take advantage.

In all honesty, i didnt do much shopping around. They are down the street, they know what a sugar glider is (unlike the other 2 vets i called lol) They can take care of all the pets in my house (4 suggies) (2 kittens) (2 hamsters) (2 dogs) (the dogs and 1 of the hamsters isnt mine, im fostering them for someone whose having surgery until she gets better)
Its very, very clean. Just expensive. -_-
Okay so i went this morning, Shes fine. It needs keeping an eye on, but there is no infection or bleeding. Its just abit raw from the sugar glider babies at 7 weeks still trying to get back inside sometimes. They said rub a lubricant on it sometimes if it seems to be getting worse, just to form a barrier.
And yes, shes lost her babies because of the 7 week oop joeys not being fully weaned yet. x

She won't have lost the babies because the others aren't weaned. They are 'designed' to have joeys IP and also at foot.

The vet didnt see/feel any when looking her over.
When i know for a fact i saw her give birth. Perhaps theyv been dislodged because of the other oop suggies, or they didnt clamp onto her nipple, or she just ate them.
I can only be hopeful!
At least Furbeh is okay, thats my main concern. Shes just sore around the pouch because it keeps being stretched a little too much x

Gliders can (and do) have three sets of joeys going at one time..... Inny outies, in pouch, and pregnant with the next lot. It's how they were made. So having joeys that are a bit reluctant to leave the comfort of their mother's pouch won't cause those that are in pouch to dislodge.
