Each glider is different and will cope with solitude in different ways. I think it would probably be best for you to allow him to adjust to his new surroundings, large cage and new slaves (you) for a couple of weeks before you add another shock to his life.
Once you have introduced him to his new cage keep an eye on him, he may display repetitive behaviours which is something he will probably be doing due to his small cage and it's habit forming so may transfer with him. We'll tackle that if and when

Just get him a friend as soon as you can, will you be getting him neutered? If so then you will need to keep him separate from a female for a month anyway to avoid unwanted pregnancies.
