She'll get over it and if Freddy isn't neutered, she is probably already pregnant again.  I'm sorry about that, though...  It's not a nice thing to witness, that's for sure.

well thanks to "essex jungle" i now have a face to a name & turns out i already know the face .
i dont know the bloke but seen him at reptile shows .
the programme in question seems to have 2 sides ,
1 side is the look at the loony weve filmed here  *laugh laugh snigger at the simpleton*
the other side is the educated professional   *to be trusted cos they know best*
unfortunately they have put him in the latter gategory .
its all advertising for him but at least theres been no mention of gliders yet

That was the end of the series apparently and I missed it!  Sadly he is classed as an expert when he's clearly not!

I was on the phone to Mr Amey a week or so ago trying to seek some 'professional' advice/information etc. I got told not to listen to anything found on the internet because it was all rubbish (kinda agree with him for some sites), came across a bit arrogant but then tried to sell me 2 boys, one of which was his, the other a confiscated animal which he said was 2yr old guessing by his teeth. I asked him if they were tame and he told me he wouldn't know as they are nocturnal (yes, thank you for pointing that one out! I may have done a little research before getting to the point of wanting to speak to someone about them) and he is at home at night! I said as this was going to be my first time, I am not confident in dealing with a glider that may have emotional issues etc etc. His reply was that it got on fine from day one with the other little boy glider!
Wow. I'll be looking for a different breeder a bit closer to Cumbria I think!

How ridiculous ... So these highly social creatures don't get any human interaction because they are noctournal ey? Oh dear ...

Eek! We called and left a message for glider info when we were first looking at getting a pair, glad he never got back to us now!

I'm so pleased I came across this thread!

I came across Ameyzoo on the Internet and their website seemed to show them as really caring for suggies so I emailed Mark earlier this week asking for some advice about whether it was better to have two suggies of the same sex or one make and one female, bearing in mind that I have no experience of them and dont feel confident to breed.

He came straight back with the price of two males... And nothing else! No hello, no info, nothing. So I asked him for some info and whether he had any Joeys as the ones he had were already two years old and got an email saying... 'no'... And thats it! Man of few words!

My gut reaction to his initial email seems to be spot on... Thank goodness I saw this thread before I was tempted to try and speak to them further!!

Mark Amey seems to get a bad review everywhere he goes. I dont understand how someone who has such a bad rep for attitude and advice actually owns a shop and is "famous" in the animal world?
