who's shoes are these boots i'm wearin?

« on: May 23, 2011, 05:48:07 am »

ok, Tarzan and Jane are settling in nicely.  They have been here since Saturday and seem to be okydoky so far.  Have spent this morning ringing local vets and comparing prices for getting Tarzan 'done' - can you believe one surgery were quoting £145?!?!?!!! -  anyway... my question is this...
If I make an appointment for the op to be done this week, is it too soon after moving them to their new home?  I really want to get this done asap but on the other hand, I dont want to upset them while they are still settling in.  Jane will most definatley notice that Tarzan has gone from the pouch and he seems to look to her for comfort a lot of the time (Tarzan only has one eye) when they are playing in the evenings.

sorry, I didnt explain this very well at all!  These two are not joeys, they are (I'm told) around two years old ish so im not worried about how old he is re:neutering, Im more worried about how it will affect them being apart so soon after being re-homed with me.  I DO want him done though, the girls who were taking care of them before I took them on said they have never had any joeys, but from looking around I have found that the previous owner was on here as a guest a couple of years ago and it looks like Jane may have had joeys then...cannot find any posts that confirm this though.  Anyway, I would rather be 'safe than sorry' with respect to babies, I certainly dont want to breed them especially as this my fist time as a 'sugar momma' lol! Go for it as soon as you want, I find that getting all that unsettling stuff sorted at the same time is easier. Then you can concentrate on bonding when hes back but you must be confident to check his wound and stop him from pulling it/chewing it so if you are not bonded do be prepared to possibly get bitten  Wink

I agree with Lou, get it over and done with.

As for keeping the poms, I believe we've had this discussion a loooooooong time ago on here when we discussed using them as earrings!!   Grin
