« on: May 25, 2011, 04:08:19 am »

Just thought I'd post this out of shock really, Shocked
been calling vets all week trying to find the best (closest & most experienced) place to have Tazan castrated, today I had a call back from one who 1: queried WHY I wanted him done, 2:quoted me a ridiculous price and 3:proceeded to lecture me that he shouldn't really BE castrated because they should live in a family group so its fine for them to breed - no thought as to how many joeys I would end up with and where they would all go! Huh
This was advice from a VET surgery!
If it was my dog, I bet they wouldnt be advising me not to castrate eh?!

What a muppet!!!!  I would have lectured him back about irresponsible pet ownership and inbreeding which would inevitably happen!  I don't think we'll be adding that one to the list of recommended vets!

Just so you know, the average price for neutering is around £50.

by any chance is the vet is Ashleigh vets in Chorlton Manchester on the recomended list? They were excellent and they treat quite a few exotic pets including gliders Smiley

Add it to the list, there's a thread in the suggiedex (I think!).  I'll add it tomorrow, along with any others I've been too lazy ... ahem ... busy to add!  Wink
