Nope, and nope. They smell kinda musky sweet. I quite like their smell.... *shrugs* It's always like "home" to me, if that makes sense And once you get it down, they're relatively easy to care for

ok, you're not just saying that because you keep them and love them and squish them... i'm kinda guessing the smell is like hogs...musky in that you know its there but its not offensive.

They're not a 'mare at all! They're an absolute pleasure for the right person! They do have an odour as all animals do, but it's not an offensive smell if you keep them clean and feed them a good diet. You'll get as much out of them as you put in. They are high maintenance pets I'm not denying that, especially in the early days when and if you want them to bond with you. But to me and alot of other people on the forum they are worth the effort!

I'd say the most difficult bit is getting their food right, but they're not a 'mare'. And as amalthea says their smell is kind of sweet, which makes sense as they eat a lot of fruit which is packed with natural sugars... and what's sugar.... something sweet. but as with any smell, you get used to it, it's not as if it's overpowering either.

You asked and we shared our opinions, but it's so hard online to express an opinion without it coming across as shitty, especially if you're in a sensitive or bad mood (I'm usually one or the other ... lol!). So remove that tin hat and tuck it behind the sofa, we're a passionate bunch, so don't take anything we say as aggressive or arsey. We can use the tin hat at a later date to punish John for his hatred of Reece's ... bloody weirdo!!!
