Aw sorry Rhi, you clearly have cunning suggies! I've found what helps is moving quite far away from them to a point where they really have to calculate the jump in order to make it -mine look at every bit of my body and move around their perch until they find the right space...do a little wiggle and it's launch time!
Cant wait till I can start capturing my little ones on camera... How long have you had your gliders for Nell? And could anyone tell me if two girls or two boys is a better combo.. I don't want to breed from them so I would ideally want two of the same gender. I have read that males sent... x
Hi Amy, I've had mine for 4 months now, though I was v lucky, as I rehomed them from some hobby breeders who were emigrating, and they came to us super tame! Bonding takes time depending on the individual suggy though, so you may have yours gliding to you in the first few weeks

I think the general consensus is that a trio is the optimum number, as it ensures that if the worst happens and one dies the impact isn't quite so great upon the gliders left behind as they have each other -however starting out 2 is a good number as I know suggies are expensive!
As for gender, I can't comment on girls as I've never kept them, and you're right intact males will scent (I believe the females do too to a lesser extent) however all my gliders are intact males (though not for too much longer as poor Gnasher will be saying goodbye to his goolies in the next few months

) and I have to say I personally don't find the scent particularly bad- you can't smell it when entering a room with them in and so long as you do clean the cage regularly it's really not an issue (though not too much or they'll go scenting crazy!)
