We got a kitten last week who has fleas  Cry can the sugar gliders get them?
One of the suggies was playing with the kitten last night too  Lips sealed do you think it's a good idea to let them play together when the fleas are gone so the kitten won't attack them when she's older?
Also what do ticks look like, and what do fleas look like? I'm not sure which one he has but there little black crawly jumpy things  Cry and he has black and White dots in his fur.

Fleas are little black things that disappear into the fur then you expose them. I think gliders fair will be to dense for fleas. But on another note I wouldn't be letting yr gliders play with a new kitten!

Well she has defanitly got fleas then  Sad
She has only met the gliders once and she was sceared of them, I though if she seen them she would ignore them after a bit and not attack them, I wont let her see them any more.

Don't ever let your cat "play" with your gliders, like Mark said...  They are predators and it only takes a second for that "play" to become lethal for your gliders.  Quite often, cats "play" with their victims before killing them.

Get some frontline spray or drops from your vet to get rid of the fleas, as well.  It's not the end of the world Wink Just nip it in the bud now before it gets out of control.

I was gonna say the exact same thing as amalthea. it's like allowing a cat to play with a mouse, or a lion playing with a zebra..... oooooohhhhh the masacre! lol

You need flea products that work....  Stuff from the vet will kill all bugs on her.  Don't bother with the crap you buy from pet stores.

Have you taken her to the vets? Where did u get the fleas killer from? A lot of the cheaper ones don't work on heavy infestations, take her to the vets for a health check and to sort the pesky fleas out.

He's not had any needles or been wormed yet. I thought the person we got her off had done that but if they haven't de fleaed him I don't think they will of wormed him Or given him his needles.  Sad I was goin to pick up some worming tablets but he will be going to the vets at the weekend hopefully, can I get the tablets there?

Fleas, ear mites, and worms all come hand in hand.  And you need the stuff from the vets.  Bob Martin's is crap.

don't feel bad! you never know what to do unless you ask or mistakes are made and then you can learn from them. Unfortunately with flea stuff, businesses tend to be more interested in profit margins rather than quality of product. Ask your vet to see what they recommend.

You need to treat your house, as well as the cats to get rid of them.  Get a good quality house flea spray from the vet and treat all beddings, soft furnishings, and around skirting boards.

Just a warning, when we got our gliders we were living at my mum's at the time and she had a cat who was not allowed anywhere near Tidus and Tifa but one night he managed to sneak into our room and in the middle of the night we heard a big crash, Wolfy (apropriate name for a cat) had gotten the bottom door open on the cage, had trapped Tidus screaming at him inside while Tifa tried to escape, she ended up trying to grab something on the wall but fell in a panic and ended up banging her head, she died almost instantly. We think Tidus was trying to attack Wolfy to save his sister. I was distraught that night and Tidus was so depressed, that's how we ended up with Skittle as he'd lost his partner too. So just be careful with a cat around, when Wolfy was a kitten he was so gentle but now he's older he is litterally a hunter, even if we stroke him we need to do it right otherwise we get told off by him! lol
