i have noticed of late that 1 of my suggies seems to catch her claws on everything ,
her pouch , my clothes , the flysheet of the bonding tent .
the other 2 dont at all , but she cant seem to walk across material of any kind without catching a claw .
its all her feet too , not just 1 with a split claw /hang nail etc .
is this common ?
does she need her claws clipping or something ?

Hey hun, I think most people on he
:Pre line their wheel with sandpaper (you can get specific stuff from Marie) as this sands their claws lightly -only to be left in for 48 hours at a time or it can take the skin off their paws. I clip my boys, but I wouldn't advise this if your gliders aren't soppy tame, as they will probably struggle and you might hurt them. If they are ok with it (a treat usually helps) take the tiniest bit of the tip off or they won't be able to climb well and this will stress them a bit -avoid the pink blood vessel running through the nail as this will hurt them and bleed if you cut it

i also add a wooden platform which is a little longer than a sheet of bird sandpaper. i have two hooks on the side. i place a sheet of bird sandpaper on top by wrapping about 1"of it over this edge and let the hooks punch through the sandpaper. i can hook it at a steep angle against the side of the cage and my suggies climb up it and jump into it which shortens their nails. when it gets past its best i just pull the paper off and pop on another.

Is the wodent wheel with the insert ok to leave in over 48 hours or not? if not, how often do you put the paper insert thing in to do their nails?
