Hi everyone,

Just wanted to say hi before posting and say what a brilliant site!

My husband and I have been searching for the perfect pets to join our family and saw a couple of gliders in a pet shop a while ago. They have caught our curiosity ever since and we have now spent the past few months researching these wonderful creatures and deciding if they fit with our lifestyle.

Everything is positive so far so hopefully we will be ready to adopt some soon but we want everything to be ready before we do and ensure we are going to have happy and healthy pets.

I am sure the wealth of information and expertise on this site will help us on the way.  I have so many questions but will spend some time browsing some of the topics already on here.

Thank you for making me feel welcome everyone.

I guess the most confusing thing so far is the feeding and where to find a couple of sugar gliders. Would love for this to happen soon whilst I am on Summer holiday.

Also, I have just found out my vet, where I treated me boa (RIP Belinda), is also experienced with gliders so that is peace of mind and one thing to cross off my to do list!

Well, there is one silly question ... do you like Reece's peanut butter cups?  Obviously the answer is yes, because anyone that doesn't like them are just plain weird ... and not in a good way!  Isn't that right John?   Tongue

But yes, welcome to SGF.  Glad you like the site  Smiley

I've never tried Reece's peanut butter cups but I am sure they are delightful!

Belinda was a red tailed boa constrictor we rescued from someone.  They told us she was 16 years old but we were dubious because of her large size.  We had her for just over a year and she stopped eating and in the end her organs failed (we suspect she was about 30 years old in reality).  The vet was brilliant and even sent a condolence card when she died.

However we still have Brian, another red tailed boa, who is 7 years old now and will be nowhere near any sugar gliders!

Marie, just a quick question about your sugar glider supplies - how long do your sugar glider dietary products keep?  I don't want to buy ahead and then find they are out of date before we get any gliders.

Su-nee, don't get sucked in by marie's and amalthea's reeces rubbish! stay strong - your life WILL be better without them! lol

marie - i may well be weird, however anyone who enjoys reeces are insane and should be locked away in an asylum. I would say locked in a room full of reeces but you'd enjoy that far too much, so instead, you and jen shall be locked in a room together watching someone who dislikes them immensely (not me!!!) eat them, spit them out and throw them all away! lol

Now, you'll be telling me that you like marmite also, won't you  Sad tisk tisk
