Tried my girls on worms for the first time tnyt .... just thought they'd appreciate something new lol They didnt ....
Well, after about a minute one of them took a worm, seemed to enjoy it. Then because 1 of them was eating the other one became jealous and tried to take it off her. They both shared it and seem to enjoy it. But then wouldn't take another one off me. They wouldn't take Iams to begin with so I'm guessin its just sumat they'd need to get used to. Not gona feed em all the time as I know the nutrition in them is basically zilch, just thought they'd make a change thats all.
Any1 else feed mealies?x

I was gona get waxies but I know theyre more fatty aint they. I wudnt wana feed them ones too often, and they'd probly turn into moths and scare me to death before I used em lol.
Think these mealies mite hav turned to dust tho before my girls take to em! Ha! Don't think i'll be re-buying these x

Mine prefer wax worms to mealies... Waxies don't grab them back lol I throw some on the floor of my cage and my more dominant suggie goes into 'hunting mode'. while she's like this I'm hand feeding my other girl! I haven't given them wax worms yet, although I'm sure they'd be obsessed with them too hehe

My Glider Tilly loves mealworms but i dont know how many i should really give her a day, should i give her a couple a day when im having time with her or should she just have two or three worms a couple of times a week, i dont want to harm her by feeding her too many which i think i have done before. i think she would live on them if she could lol

Keep them in the fridge! That way a) they don't squirm when you feed your suggies, and b) they don't pupate. I've had the two batches I've got for well over 2 months just by keeping them in the fridge. For the past 2 weeks I've been too lazy to put them back, and we've still only had 2 pupate! It works the same with waxies they just feel more gross when you take them out...all cold and squishy, BLERGH

keeping them in the fridge slows their development, so while they're larvae (the worm stage) they stay in this form for longer before they pupate. insects work on the format that the warmer it is, the quicker they develop - so that's why in the spring and summer months (when it's normally warm) you see alot more flies around because it can take just a little over 2 weeks for a maggot to become an adult

GREAT TIP this will save me £££££££'s as mine turn into weird squishy whitish things and then before i know it i have beetles leaping out..... dont go to waste though, if my hamster is around at the time (Teddy Pom Pom is only a baby but bigger than a baby rabbit we had lol) she chases and eats the blooming beetles lol.... such fun, and what the hamsters dont eat my rabbit does!!!
