Hi!

I'd like to introduce myself since i've got two new gliders since the weekend.

I'm 26 years old and live together with my girlfriend.
Both of us are working and the nocturnal suggie is the best option for us.

We've been reading into them for 2 years and waited till our other pets (8 rats) died before we stepped in to a new experience.

A summary of our first days.

1st day:
Took the suggies home early in the morning in a nesting box. lots and lots of crabbing each time i hit a speedbump or when my girlfriend started talking. Guess i don't have to train them to tell my gf to stop yapping ;-P

In the evening they came out to see who those weird people were. Alot of crabbing and sniffing around and thats it.

2nd day: They woke up late and ate their snacks while sitting on my hand, nipped me a few times and spend alot of time near the bars of the cage looking at me. The little buggers started barking at 7 am. Perfect time for me to get up, so thanks!  Heard from my girlfriend they kept on partying till 11am.

3rd day: Was able to pet them, we've got a shy one and a curious one. The curious one is a very licky glider  Woke up the next day at 7am and checked if they went to sleep already. Didn't see them but the moment i stepped in front of the cage one jumped out of his pouch like he was on caffeine the whole night and wanted to get some attention :-D

Have to say that the nipping is a bit scary, especially since i've been bitten numerous times by one the rats and i know it isn't a pleasant experience when they draw blood.

But from reading all the stories about the progress in bonding i think its safe to say that these two babies are quick with trying out if we are safe to be around Smiley

Kiwi and Elmo  Smiley

Elmo is actually turning into a curious critter with a "i don't give a $#%" attitude  Smiley

He managed to escape this evening and made a game out of trying to stay out of sight. Each time popping up somewhere at my feet and scurrying off like a rocket when i tried to lure him. Eventually got him back in his cage by using the old nestingbox.

Thought we would have to start all over again with gaining the bit of trust we build up but he doesn't seem to mind what happened. I think he had a taste of freedom because the moment i opened up the cage he jumped to the door as quickly as possible  Shocked

Lol!  Sounds like you got a lovely pair.  Congratulations!  They do enjoy to play the "just try and catch me" game sometimes.
