Tilly & Zac (RIP ZAC)

« on: September 21, 2011, 01:54:38 am »

Just wondering if anybody has found which supermarkets have the best range or if they have found a supermarket that has a good mix of the range of at least the fruits needed (veges are easier to find)... i have a very good greengrocers who is used to me getting left overs for my other animals and bits and pieces for my gliders .... Asda also have some good prepacked multi fruit cartons of fruit but just wondering if anyone say gets it all from say 2 visits to 2 different places and gets the lot!!!??? I am going to start freezing portions for Tilly (and hopefully shortly her new mates) so that it will help?  Smiley  i always thought i had to do it fresh every day which i suppose is great but if freezing larger portions to use for the next few days is ok then ill go with that, its well easier.. Wink

Thanks

Doh, hit send and wasn't finished. Occasionally it doesn't have the blackberries which is when I pop into Morrisons on the way home!

One way we make sure we have enough fruit and veggies in the house is to pop down to the local market on the day of the week that they are there. If you build a good relationship with the guys on the fruit & veg stand, they will usually do you a mixed bag of anything left over at the end of the day, for no more than £1- bargin...!

I find Tesco does everything. Boxes of berries normally 2 for £3 or something like that. They always have papaya, figs, etc, always some sort of deal on. And a good range of veggies too x

I tend to get my bits and bobs from Tesco, I once got them from asda but some of the stuff went mouldy before I was able to make a mix up, so I don't go there anymore.

Funnily enough, a friend of mine said the same about Asda fruit/veg but I've never had a problem.  I get my fruit veg from either the market, Morrisons and Asda.   Grin  Rich really loves Mondays because it's shopping day!   Lol
