Hi, I'm new to getting sugar gliders but i think that i want to get 2 females. i would keep them in a 5ft high cage and play with them every night. I've done a lot of research about them but i am still stuck on the feeding. would this be a good diet for 1 glider per night ?

a slice of apple or a few blueberries etc sprinkled with bee pollen or acacia gum
5 or 6 iams biscuits or 5 or 6 mealworms ( i have leopard geckos so this would not be a problem)
glider booster
and then glidercal and gliderade on alternate days?

obviously i would mix up the fruits and may give them 3 or 4 crickets.

thanks so much, Rupert

Not really Sad Have you looked through the diet topics on the site? The fruit that they are given every night really needs to be a mixture of at least 3 or 4, which ones you put together depend on the calcium:phosphorus ratio. They also need a few veggies aswell. There are some recipes all ready worked out that are really easy to follow.

You have the basics right. I'd feed Iams as the main diet for protein and mealworms every so often as more of a treat. Ya got it spot on with the gum and pollen, and they do need the glider booster and cal with their fruit everynight. Amount depending on the level of calcium already in the fruit and how much you make of it.

Have a look in the diet stickys Smiley x

Forgot this was an intro post lol, sorry! Welcome to the forum!

I started out with 2 girls, had them 3 month and love them to bits. I'v just managed to hold 1 of them comfortably in my hand without them wriggling. This is 3 months after playing with them in their cage and outside for at least 2hrs a night. Just to make ya aware that bonding doesn't always happen overnight. But everything is so worth it Smiley Good luck getting ya gliders. The cage height sounds great, make sure its at least 2ft inb width and depth too. I'm assuming it is with it being tall.

But yeh, welcome Smiley the forum is a goldmine for info so really take advantage x
