I've been reading thru all of the topics about how much to feed you gliders, coming to the conclusion that there should really be a little bit of food left over each morning.

My girls get 2 cubes each per night along with 5 Iams and a dish of gliderade between them. I feed them at around 7pm and by morning the bowls are licked clean, not a crumb left! Last night I tried them with 3 cubes each and the same amount of Iams and the bowls were licked clean again this morning!

It seems that none of you guys feed your suggies 3 cubes each, I don't want to for fear of them getting chubby. Just wanted to see how much they would eat if I let them.

Do they actually need 3 cubes a night? Do some gliders just need more food? Or will they just eat as much as I give them? I'm gave 2 cubes tonight, measures out at a generous tablespoon full. Are my girls just greedy?

Also, i'll try and weigh them tomorrow. Any idea what a 7month old female should weigh roughly??x

Mine are starting to eat more now, too, since the winter's on the way. And I like them to get a bit tubbier over winter, as well...

Hi,
Ice cube trays vary in how much they hold, also, if you are adding liquid to your mixes or using a lot of lower calorie fruit and veg they might need a few more cubes.
I now freeze my mixes in latex cake cases, i can put in the right amount of mixture for one evening and they are so easy to use Smiley

Ohh, I make up 2 weeks at a time as I have 2 diff recipes on the go, I add water or sometimes a bit of juice and water to help much the veggies depending on what recipe im using, could that be it? Thers just more water in the food than before?

I've got this recipe...
PAPAYA 4.8 + HALF AGAIN 2.4
PEAR 1.0
APPLE 1.0
CARROT 0.6
BUTTERNUT 1.5
MANGO 0.9
FIG 2.5
CAT BICCIES 1.0

TOTAL=1.9 (SINGLE PAPAYA 1.6)

 and this recipe .....
PAPAYA 4.8
APPLE 1.0
RASPBERRIES 1.8
WATERCRESS 2.0
SWEET POTATO 0.8
GREEN BEANS 1.0
CAT BICCIES 1.0

TOTAL= 1.7 (2.1 WITH HALF AGAIN PAPAYA)

 I used the extra papaya in both. I have 2 bowls in my cage, sometimes I feed one recipe per night or sometimes I feed 1 in each bowl. They're quite happy to share bowls and as I said they are both licked clean. I've only been successfully feeding vegetables for about 6wks now, and I think that was when I started adding water to the mush to make it blend better, I think that is when they started to eat more. Maybe it is the water.

Also, my ice cubes are bendy blue ones to make it easier to push one cube out at a time. Not the plastic ones. Maybe i'll give them 3 cubes each every other day then over winter and see how they go, if they start looking a little tubby i'll cut it back down to 2 again x
